Over the past month, Wisconsin Autism Insurance Now has been reaching out to legislative candidates to educate them about the importance of legislation which would require group insurance policies to cover autism insurance services. We mailed a packet of information to each candidate which included a survey with the following question:

In the past few years, legislatures around the country have passed laws requiring insurance companies to provide coverage for treatment and services to children with autism in the benefit packages they offer to insureds—typically for group health coverage. These laws are different from state to state, requiring insurance companies to offer various levels of treatment and services.

Would you support a requirement that insurance companies cover treatment services for children with autism in their group health packages?
